My Edible Garden

I've been gardening for most of my life and have been a devoted fan of organic gardening the whole time. It just makes so much more sense to work in harmony with Mother Nature than to fight her. Besides which it is better for the planet and better for our bodies. Here you can see what I'm planting and harvesting, with gardening hints and resources thrown in for good measure.

Farmer Friday

Check out the size of that mushroom, bigger than my palm. I would love to know more about mushroom ID. I don't know enough to risk eating them even when they look just like the ones in the store. I'm really happy to see them in the gardens however since fungi are an important part of the soil ecology.

The rainbow chard and the kale are making a comeback now that they are getting more water. I still need to actually fix the drip system but for now the sprinkler is working.

I pulled some nice size French Breakfast radish along with some Cherry Belle and Zlata.

The gold/tan ones are Zlata.

There was a nice assortment of large tomatoes although the rain made many of them split. I forgot to take a picture of the 8.5 pounds of cherry tomatoes.

Off to the SunFlour Market in Superior. I had some of Willa's delicious stuffed pepper soup. After delivering all the eggs and veggies I drove through a rain storm and did chores in a drizzle.  Sadly it only amounted to .1"

It's almost 7 pm. I've had a little dinner, still need to sort eggs and feed dogs. Then a cup of tea and off to bed.
