My Edible Garden

I've been gardening for most of my life and have been a devoted fan of organic gardening the whole time. It just makes so much more sense to work in harmony with Mother Nature than to fight her. Besides which it is better for the planet and better for our bodies. Here you can see what I'm planting and harvesting, with gardening hints and resources thrown in for good measure.

Goats

Caramel, my half LaMancha half Nubian doe is super sweet. And very curious

So it’s really hard to get a good picture of her!

I potted up the first batch of tomato plants the other day. Look at those roots!

I cleaned it the 2nd fridge and discovered a bag of Sunroots (aka Jerusalem artichoke) that I stashed in there in the FALL OF 2019!! Still alive! So of course I’ve been planting them.

I got a real pretty pullet egg the other day.

I really thought Posie was going to kid this afternoon! But nope. She stood up and started eating hay.

But she’s getting closer. Just hope when she finally decides to do it things go smoothly.

While the rest of the country is expecting a polar vortex out weather continues to be unseasonably warm and dry. But we have now gained enough hours of daylight that egg production is finally beginning to pick up.

#appreciation
Today I appreciate #farmlife Baby chicks are hatching, seeds are growing, goat kids on the way.
