My Edible Garden

I've been gardening for most of my life and have been a devoted fan of organic gardening the whole time. It just makes so much more sense to work in harmony with Mother Nature than to fight her. Besides which it is better for the planet and better for our bodies. Here you can see what I'm planting and harvesting, with gardening hints and resources thrown in for good measure.

Day 8: Twelve Days of 2023

This is my recap of August 2023. The amazing tomato garden is in full swing. Lots of cherry and yellow pear, Fourth of July and Early Girl tomatoes.
A pretty dragon fly

Some gnarly looking Armenian cucumbers. They did ok but not super.

This whole year was super hot and very dry. I don't think I've ever seen a summer with such little rain.

Eggs are coming in.

Pinto Bean, Bambi's daughter was the single doeling I kept this year.

Digger started jumping up on top of his house to bark at coyotes and then slept on it when it wasn't too hot.

I had never seen scavenger beetles here before. I don't know where they came from but they appeared to eat an entire carcass hair and all.

Hard to see even with my flashlight, but that spider has dozens of babies on her back

We had some amazing clouds but not much rain.
