My Edible Garden

I've been gardening for most of my life and have been a devoted fan of organic gardening the whole time. It just makes so much more sense to work in harmony with Mother Nature than to fight her. Besides which it is better for the planet and better for our bodies. Here you can see what I'm planting and harvesting, with gardening hints and resources thrown in for good measure.

Peaceful Sunday 2/2/2020

Getting tons of eggs!

Mostly today I just piddled along. Put out grit and oyster shell, turned some compost, unloaded feed. I spent most of the morning sorting through my Black Copper Marans hens and pullets. I marked some to cull soon, they are so old and fat they aren’t likely to lay at all. There are others that I will check again in March. If they aren’t laying by then they probably won’t. I spent some time leveling these pavers out and some time working on organizing my breeding records. Not done with that yet but almost have it finished.

A traffic jam when I went out to feed.

And a lovely ending to a lovely day.

#100daysofappreciation
Today I just really appreciated the sun shining, the birds singing and the peacefulness of my little corner of the universe.
